Mrs. Brunhilde Spine
Frankfort - Mrs. Brunhilde Spine, 79, of 103 Elizabeth St passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at her daughter, Elizabeth's home in Saratoga Springs.
She was born in Berlin, Germany on April 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Karl and Selma Gerasch. She attended schools there and graduated from beautician school there. She was a "War Bride" and was married to Albert Spine on June 10, 1947 in Frankfurt, Germany. The couple shared a blessed union of 55 years until Albert's passing on June 30, 2002. Mrs. Spine was a beautician for the Opera, Berlin, Germany and later in Frankfurt AM Main, Germany before coming to America. She was a Communicant of Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church & a former member of the Mohawk Valley Business Women´s Association. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed discussing politics and current events. Hilde loved dancing and music especially the opera. She loved to cook both german and italian dishes and she took great pride in her home and the farm. She was always the care giver of the family. Everyone knew that "Aunt Hilde" was always there to help in any way she could.
Brunhilde is survived by her two beloved daughters & sons in law, Elizabeth & Joseph Favat of Saratoga Springs and Margaret & Wayne Maser of Oneida; one granddaughter, Kristy Maser & her companion, Brian Mingo of Oneida; one grandson, Joseph Favat Jr. of Saratoga Springs; her life long friends, Jean Brown, Margaret Renodin and Rev John Yanas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her in laws, Nick & Carrie Spine, Michael Spine, Stella & Frank Della Posta, Joseph & Harriet Spine, Thomas & Lulu Spine and Julia & John Belmont.
Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 am from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 11:30 am in Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by the Rev. Alfred Lamanna. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Brunhilde's memory may be made to Our Lady Queen Of Apostles Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
