Ilion - Mrs. Barbara E. Hladysz, 54, of 23 Orchard St. passed away Friday, November 5, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. She was born in Herkimer on August 23, 1956, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Gillette Brownrigg. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class 1975 and later attended and graduated from Utica School of Commerce with her degree in Medical Transcription. She was married to Ronald Hladysz on April 16, 1977 in Frankfort United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hladysz was employed by Duofold, Joseph and Feiss, Curtains and Fabrics and later as a Receptionist for Better Health Chiropractic, Utica. She was an avid reader and bowler and loved camping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Lily. Barbara is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Hladysz; her mother and step father, Margaret Brownrigg and Richard Madaras of Yorkville; one daughter and son in law, Lynn and Kenneth Osaki of Great Barrington, MA; one son, Richard Hladysz and his companion, Kelly Carter of Ilion; her cherished granddaughter, Lily Sueko Osaki; two brothers and one sister in law, Eugene Brownrigg of Yorkville and Lowell and Rose Brownrigg of Frankfort; her mother in law, Esther Hladysz; sister and brother in law, Cheryl and Ted Foss and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Brownrigg and her father in law, Charles Hladysz. A celebration of her life will be held Monday at 11:00 am in the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer with the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home.
