Frankfort - Mr. Anthony J. Caiola, 92, of 345 Fourth Ave., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Heritage Healthcare .
Anthony was born in Frankfort on October 26, 1918, the son of the late Peter and Josephine Congelo Caiola. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1936. He served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged on September 21, 1945. He was married to Mary Averson on July 8, 1944 in St Mary's Church, Frankfort. Tony was well known throughout the state as the P & R Macaroni Salesman for many years. Mr. Caiola was later employed by Kelsey Hayes for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the V.F.W Post #502, Frankfort - Ilion.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Caiola; two daughters and sons in law, Kathleen and Michael Romano of Rochester and Toni Marie and James Bono of Wilmington, NC; one sister, Mary Caiola of Frankfort; one brother and sister in law, Peter and Carmela Caiola of N. Hills, CA; his grandchildren, Michael J. Romano and his wife, Kim of Chicago, IL, Kristen and her husband, Daniel McKenzie of Fairport, NY, Stephen Romano and his wife, Emily of Ft. Mill, SC; his great grandchildren, Michael Joseph Romano III, Natalie Romano, Elizabeth McKenzie, Michael David McKenzie, Alessandra Romano, Nicholas Porter Romano and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters, Virginia Caiola, Mamie DiSano and Marion Sciortino and one brother, Carl Caiola.
His funeral will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 11:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the V.Rev. Anthony Barrett and assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Members of Tony's family will gather at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of service.
