Mrs. Anne Anthony
Mohawk - Anne Anthony, 83, of 2440 St Rte 28 passed away Friday, December 9, 2005 in Bassett Health Care, Cooperstown.
She was born on December 1, 1922 in Richfield Springs, the daughter of the late Philip and Anastasia Homiack. Anne married Charles H. Anthony on July 12, 1948 in S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Church, Herkimer, and enjoyed 56 years together. Mr. Anthony passed away on November 26, 2004.
Mrs. Anthony was employed as a receptionist for Dufold, Inc., Mohawk until retirement in 1982. She was a member of S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Church, Herkimer, Past President of St. Anna Sisterhood, very active member of the Herkimer American Red Cross and member of the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts.
Anne was a passionate and talented artist who was in love with nature. She held many exhibits regularly in local shows. Anne was also an illustrator recognized world wide for her contributions to the "Recipes Bless the Heart and Home" which is published by S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church.
Anne is survived by her son; Charles P. Anthony of San Francisco, CA; her brother and sister-in-law, Samuel & Jean Homiack of Bradenton, FL; her sister-in-law, Joyce Demchko of E. Herkimer and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her funeral will be held Monday morning at 9 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 9:30 AM in S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Church with Archpriest James M. Jadick, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in S.S. Peter And Paul Orthodox Cemetery, E. Herkimer. Calling hours will be 5-8 PM, Sunday at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Parastas will be held Sunday evening at 7 PM, with Fr. Jadick, officiating.
Contributions in Anne's memory may be made to S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
