Anna Getman

Wilmington, NC - Mohawk - Mrs. Anna Getman, 91, of 6136 Ambleside Dr. Wilmington, NC formerly of Mohawk, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Liberty Hospice with her family by her side. She was born in Jordanville on August 14, 1921, the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Chunick Wacyk and she attended schools there. She was married to Robert Charles Getman on January 26, 1962 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Robert passed away on December 26, 1978. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4915 Aux. Anna is survived by one son and daughter in law, Johnand Carol Brykailo, Jr. of Ocala, FL; two step daughters and sons in law, Joyce and Alton Boepple of Mohawk and Bobbette and Richard Friend of Syre, PA; one brother and sister in law, Stevena Shirley Wacyk of Hatfield, PA; one brother in law, Philip Hinotsky of Mohawk; one sister in law, Marietta Wacyk of Frankfort and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister, Mary Hinotsky and one brother, Michael Wacyk. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Ivan Semko, officiating. Spring interment will be in St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home. Parastas will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 at the funeral home with Father Semko, officiating.
