Frankfort- Mr. Angelo David Riente, 58, of 119 Canal St. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 13, 2009 in his home with his family by his side. He was born in Ilion on November 8, 1951, the son of the late Anthony and Joan McGrath Riente. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler High School with the class of 1970. He later attended and graduated from Plattsburgh State University with the class of 1980 and received his Bachelors Degree in Child Family Services. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged on November 23, 1973 with the rank of E4. He was married to Elizabeth Beth Bright on August 5, 1978 in Poughkeepsie. He was employed by Herkimer ARC and later as a Probation Officer in Herkimer County for many years. Mr. Riente was later employed as an Investigator for the Herkimer County District Attorney's Office, Herkimer, until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Little Falls and the Frankfort Kiwanis Club where he served as a Past President and Chairman of the Gram Lorraine Program.Angelo was very Frankfort-minded and served as a Village Trustee from 1995-2002. Angelo's life revolved around his family and he was a coach for the Frankfort Schuyler High School girl's sports program and Modified Soccer. He loved playing basketball and fly fishing. Angelo is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Beth Riente; two daughters, Eletta Riente of North Arlington, NJ and Sara Riente of Frankfort; three brothers and sisters in law, John and Carol Riente of Fairfax, VA, Edward and Nancy Riente of Liberty, NY and James and Deborah Riente of Columbia, SC; one sister and brother in law, Nora and Michael Perkett of Hickory, NC; his mother in law, Lola Bright; his in laws, Michael and Margaret Bright, Robert and Janet Bright and Jeffrey Bright; his aunts, Carrie Sciortino, Mary Acquaviva, Julie Lilli and Frances Bugaj and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Riente on March 15, 1986 and his father in law, Arthur Bright on September 20, 2000. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave. Frankfort and at 10:30 AM in First Baptist Church of Little Falls with the Rev. Chris Wintermute, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. Contributions in Angelo's memory may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413, the Gram Lorraine Children's Program, or the First Baptist Church Radio Ministry, 555 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
