Mr. Angelo Doug D'Ambrosio
Herkimer - Mr. Angelo Doug D'Ambrosio, 91, of 312 Church St passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in Spartan Regional Hospice.
He was born in Herkimer on February 1, 1916 the son of the late Antonio and Louisa Onorato D'Ambrosio and he attended Herkimer schools. He was married to Helen Kraszewski on November 27, 1941 in St. Joseph's Church, Herkimer. Doug served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was Honorably Discharged on November 11, 1945. Mr. D'Ambrosio was employed as the Plant Manager for Be Jay Manufacturing, Malone, NY for many years until his retirement in 1984. He was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church and was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council #579, Herkimer
former member of Nocturnal Adoration Society, Herkimer and a member of the St. Anthony's Crusaders, Herkimer.
Angelo is survived by his beloved wife, Helen D'Ambrosio; one daughter, Carmen D'Ambrosio of Inman, SC; three sons & daughters in law, Francis & Gigi D'Ambrosio of Inman, SC, Angelo & Molly D'Ambrosio of Herkimer and Peter & Sheila D'Ambrosio of Greer, SC; his grandchildren, Francis & his wife, Alicia D'Ambrosio, Alexis D'Ambrosio, Angelo Dickerson, Anthony & his wife, Julian Dickerson, Georgia D'Ambrosio, Tamblyn & his wife, Stephanie Mc Donald; one sister, Carmella Perry of Buckeye, AZ; one brother; Thomas D'Ambrosio of Phoenix, AZ and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Pat D'Ambrosio, Biagio D'Ambrosio, Joseph D'Ambrosio and Lou D'Ambrosio and three sisters, Jennie Ricci, Philomena Zahn and Anna Perry.
His funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 am in Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main St, Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi, & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer.
