Mrs. Angelina Maida

Herkimer – Mrs. Angelina Maida, 80, of Herkimer passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Pianopoli, Province of Calabria, Italy on April 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Angelino and Maria Angela Donato Scalise and she attended schools there. She was married to Francesco Maida on February 1, 1958 in Pianopoli. The family came to the United States in February of 1966. Francesco passed away on May 28, 1998. She was a Seamstress for Duofold and later for Joseph and Feiss, Utica for many years.  Angelina was a communicant of Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church.

Angelina is survived by two daughters and one son in law, Rose Piccione and her companion, Chris Bubb of Herkimer  and Ann Marie and her husband, Karl Lehmann of Somers NY; one brother and sister in law, Vincent and his wife, Rose Scalise of Ilion; one sister and brother in law, Theresa and her husband, Frank Ceneviva of Herkimer; one  granddaughter, Renee Loefler, one grandson, Frank and his wife, Audrey Piccione, four great grandchildren, Avery Loefler, Ethan Loefler, Julian Piccione and Bella Rose Piccione; her in laws, Concetta Scalise of Italy, Maria and Joseph Servidone of Springfield MA, Angelo and Julia Maida of Harrison NY and Francine Maida of Springfield MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Carmillo Scalise.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday morning, May 2, 2018 at 9:15 AM from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer and at 10:00 in Sts. Anthony & Joseph Church here a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Quy Vo, pastor. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 1 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
