Alan Conklin

West Winfield - Alan Conklin, 77, passed away on September 10, 2026, at the Wynn Hospital with his family beside him.

Alan Conklin was born on September 6, 1949 in Ilion, NY, to Albert and Mary Cartagirone Conklin. He attended Mohawk schools and graduated from Mohawk High School with the class of 1967. While Al was in school, he played football, wrestled and ran track. Following his schooling, Alan joined the US Marines and was Honorably Discharged on January 19, 1972 with the rank of Corporal. He was a Self Employed contractor for many years. He spent many years in the company of his lifelong companion and friend, Linda Dunham. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk and a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion. He will always be remembered as a Marine who was proud to have served.

Alan is survived by two children, Jamie and Jason; Linda's children, Philip, Thomas, Claudine and Michael; one brother and sister in law, Gary and Mary Conklin; one sister, Edie Cochren; his aunt, Tina Caiola and his uncle, John Cartagirone. Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary, his brother, Bradley Conklin and his step father, Robert Miers.

Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. There will be no calling hours.

Al lived the way he wanted and was stubborn and I'm going to miss him. Rest in peace, love you, your brother, Gary

His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Iocovozzi Funeral and Cremation Services, 219 N. Prospect St., Herkimer.
