Herkimer - Mrs. Agnes Jane Lambert, 88, formerly of N. Prospect St. passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Dolgeville on July 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Algia and Agnes Mosher Laferriere Fox. She attended Dolgeville schools, graduating with the class of 1940. Agnes was at one time married to Alfred James Madison, Jr. She was later married to Paul "Popeye" Lambert, Jr. on October 30, 1948. Popeye passed away on January 17, 1972. Mrs. Lambert was at one time employed by Felt Shoe and later as a Lacer for HP Snyders, Little Falls for many years until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of St. Paul's Universalist Church. She loved spending time with her family especially playing bingo, cards and Yahtzee. She enjoyed listening to country music and loved to dance. Jane collected Betty Boop, Tweety Bird and owls over the years.
Agnes is survived by one daughter and son in law, Karen and Salvatore Stokes of Frankfort; one son, Allen Lambert of Little Falls; her son in law, Paul Mayton of Mohawk; her grandchildren, George Jr. and his wife, Gail Amendolare, MaryBeth Amendolare, Elaina Amendolare, Joseph and his wife, Crystal Amendolare, Michelle and Holly Lambert, Bernard and his wife, Theresa Mayton, Paul Mayton, Jr., Paula and her husband, Don Monk, Robert and his wife, Heidi Mayton and David and his wife, Emily Mayton; two sisters, Jeanne Gerdin of VA and Alice Laferriere; one brother and sister in law, Norm and Yelena Fox of DE; her in laws, Joseph Lambert of Mohawk and Patty and Donald Maholovich of Herkimer; her close friend, Jack O'Connell, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one daughter, Cheryl Mayton, her nephew, Christopher Gerdin and brother in law Frank Gerdin.
Her funeral will be held Friday morning at 10:00 from the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort with the Deacon James Bower, officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
