Mr. Adam Nemyj Sun City West, AZ. - Mr. Adam Nemyj, 96, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Grandview Terrace Banner Hospice with his family by his side. He was born in Herkimer, NY on December 26, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Mary Branka Nemyj and attended the one room school house on Shoemaker Hill. He was married to Marion Western on August 25, 1951 in First United Methodist Church Herkimer. Marion passed away on January 19, 1989. Adam was employed as a Carpenter for Chicago Pneumatic, Utica for over 30 years until his retirement in February of 1984. He was a member of Morning Star Ministries, Ilion. Adam was a creative handyman who would design and build cabinetry for his home. He built his own canoe and pleasure runabout boat. He loved bike riding all of his life. Adam enjoyed camping, hiking, waterskiing and swimming. Adam's bookcases were filled with medical books and health articles, continually reading to enjoy a healthy life. Adam is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Lori Nemyj of Frankfort and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Kinville and Sophie Rowland and one brother, John Nemyj. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St. Herkimer. Spring interment and grave side services will be in Salisbury Rural Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of your choice.
